Judiciary Exam Study Plan 2026 — 6 Mahine Ki Winning Strategy

Judiciary exam crack karna ek marathon hai, sprint nahi. Aur kisi bhi marathon mein sabse important cheez hai — planning. Bina plan ke padhai karna aise hai jaise andheron mein teer chalana. Is article mein hum aapko ek realistic, practical 6-month study plan denge jo actually kaam karta hai.

Important disclaimer: Yeh plan ek rough framework hai. Apni current knowledge level, working hours, aur exam date ke according customize karna hoga. Lekin structure same rehna chahiye.

Pehle Self-Assessment Karo

Plan shuru karne se pehle honestly assess karo ki aap kahan ho:

  • Kya law graduation recently complete ki hai ya kuch saal pehle?
  • Koi subjects hain jo already strong hain?
  • Daily kitne hours dene possible hain?
  • Target exam kaunsa hai aur uski date kya hai?
  • Pehle kabhi judiciary exam attempt kiya hai?

Yeh answers aapka personal study plan shape karenge. Fresh graduate hai toh 6 months mein prelims clear karna realistic hai. Already working aur limited hours hain toh 8-10 months better plan hoga.

Month 1 — Foundation Building (Indian Constitution + CPC)

Week 1-2: Indian Constitution

Constitution se start karo kyunki yeh sab laws ka base hai. Articles 1-51 (Union aur its territory, Citizenship, Fundamental Rights, DPSPs). Don't just read — understand WHY each provision exists. Every fundamental right ka origin, evolution, aur case laws samajhna zaroori hai. Maneka Gandhi case mein Article 21 ka expansion — life and personal liberty includes so many rights — yeh samajhna important hai.

  • Daily: 4 hours reading + 1 hour notes making
  • Resources: DD Basu + Constitution bare text
  • Practice: MCQs from previous papers on Constitution

Week 3-4: Code of Civil Procedure

CPC padhna initially boring lagta hai — lekin iska procedure samajhna bahut zaroori hai. Orders 1-47 systematically padho. Focus on Orders 7, 8, 9, 11, 14, 21, 39, 40, 47. Section 9 (civil court jurisdiction) aur Section 11 (res judicata) bahut important hain. Temporary injunction ke grounds — Section 94 read with Order 39 Rule 1-2 — exam mein frequently aata hai.

  • Daily: 4 hours CPC + 1 hour Constitution revision
  • Resources: CP Sarkar ya Takwani
  • Practice: CPC specific MCQs

Month 2 — Criminal Law (IPC + CrPC)

Week 5-6: IPC / BNS

Criminal law ka pura structure samjho. General Exceptions (Chapter IV) bahut important hai — exam mein har bar aata hai. Private defence kab applicable hai, insanity kab defence banta hai — yeh scenarios clear honni chahiye. Specific offenses: Chapter VI (against state), Chapter IX (offenses relating to elections), Chapter XVI (offenses affecting human body — murder, rape, kidnapping).

  • Daily: 5 hours IPC + 30 min Constitution revision
  • Resources: Ratanlal Dhirajlal ya PSA Pillai
  • Special focus: Section 300 vs 299 distinction, Rape provisions, Dacoity vs Robbery

Week 7-8: CrPC / BNSS

Procedure samajhna is paramount. FIR se conviction tak ka complete process mentally map karo. Bail provisions (Sections 437-439), Cognizable vs Non-cognizable offenses, Bailable vs Non-bailable. BNSS mein kya naya aaya hai — timeline provisions, victim rights — yeh padha hona chahiye. Anticipatory bail Section 438 ka scope bhi important hai.

  • Daily: 5 hours CrPC + 30 min IPC revision
  • Resources: Ratanlal on CrPC
  • Special focus: Chapter XII (information to police), Chapter XVIII (trial before sessions court)

Month 3 — Evidence Law + Property Law

Week 9-10: Indian Evidence Act / BSA

Evidence law bahut interesting aur scoring subject hai. Three main themes: relevancy, admissibility, proof. Sections 3-55 (relevancy), 56-100 (proof), 101-167 (production and effect). Electronic evidence ke provisions ab critical hain — Section 65B ka compliance kaise hota hai, Arjun Panditrao Khotkar case ke implications samjho. Expert opinion kab admissible hai, DNA evidence, CCTV footage — modern evidentiary issues samjhna zaroori hai.

  • Daily: 5 hours Evidence Act
  • Resources: Sarkar on Evidence ya Batuk Lal
  • Special focus: Electronic evidence, Confessions, Expert opinion, Presumptions

Week 11-12: Transfer of Property Act

Property transactions — sale, mortgage, lease, gift, exchange. Section 5 (what can be transferred), Section 54 (sale), Section 58 (mortgage types — simple, usufructuary, English, anomalous). Doctrine of lis pendens (Section 52), doctrine of part performance (Section 53A) — important doctrines hain. Mortgage types ka distinction exam mein frequently aata hai.

  • Daily: 4 hours TPA + 1 hour Evidence revision
  • Resources: Mulla on TPA

Month 4 — Contract, Specific Relief, Limitation, Family Laws

Week 13-14: Contract Act + Specific Relief Act

Contract Act relatively smaller hai — 3-4 days mein complete ho sakta hai. Valid contract ke ingredients (Section 10), free consent (Sections 13-22 — coercion, undue influence, fraud, misrepresentation, mistake), quasi-contracts (Sections 68-72). Specific Relief Act ke amendments (2018) important hain — specific performance ab discretionary nahi raha, it is now as of right in most cases (Section 10 amended).

Week 15-16: Limitation Act + Family Laws

Limitation Act ki Schedule important hai — articles yaad karo. Article 36 (suits for movables), Article 65 (suits for land). Sections 4-27 (computation of limitation). Section 5 (sufficient cause for condonation of delay) — courts ka liberal approach samjho. Family laws mein Hindu Marriage Act (Sections 5-18 — conditions, void/voidable marriages, divorce grounds) aur Hindu Succession Act. Muslim personal law mein nikah, talaq, mehr, iddat — basics clear karo.

Month 5 — Revision + Case Laws

Week 17-18: Full Syllabus First Revision

Pura syllabus rapid revision karo. 2 days per subject. Notes dekho — new notes mat banao. Just revise what you have already prepared. Weak areas identify karo — jahan confidence kam hai wahan slightly extra time do. Overall goal: saara syllabus ek baar rapid fire mein see karna taaki mind sab cheez ko ek cohesive whole mein dekh sake.

Week 19-20: Landmark Case Laws

100 most important Supreme Court cases padhna zaroori hai. Maneka Gandhi v. Union of India (due process, Article 21), Vishaka v. State of Rajasthan (workplace harassment guidelines), MC Mehta v. Union of India (environment, absolute liability), Kesavananda Bharati v. State of Kerala (basic structure doctrine), Indira Sawhney v. Union of India (reservations, creamy layer), Bachan Singh v. State of Punjab (death penalty rarest of rare), Arnab Goswami case (bail, liberty), Puttaswamy case (right to privacy) — yeh sab cases ki ratio decidendi clear honi chahiye.

Month 6 — Mock Tests + Final Preparation

Week 21-22: Intensive Mock Testing

Daily minimum 1 full-length prelims mock test. Analyze results — not just what you got wrong, but why you got it wrong. Common errors identify karo aur woh areas revise karo. Mock tests mein time management practice karo — 150 questions 2 hours mein matlab average 48 seconds per question. Speed aur accuracy dono improve karni hain.

Week 23: Second Full Revision

Quick revision — focus only on weak areas identified from mock tests. Don't try to learn new things at this stage. Jo padha hai usko solid karo, naya attempt karne ki koshish mat karo — isliye pehle 5 months mein complete syllabus cover karna zaroori tha.

Week 24: Final Week

Light reading, revisions, stay calm, good sleep. Trust your preparation. Exam se ek din pehle sirf revision notes dekho — kuch naya mat padhna. Physical health dhyan rakho — healthy breakfast, proper sleep, arrive at exam center early. Exam hall mein nervous mat ho — preparation achhi hai, result achha aayega.
